A Little Less Of Me

My quest to become thinner and healthier

I do love running.  During Liam’s second nap today, I got to get out for a run in the 40 degree weather.  Loved every minute of it!  It’s definitely harder to run when your nose is all clogged up, but I feel great now, and I have about 215 extra calories to eat!

I’ll probably only eat around 150 of them, I have come to not trust the calculations on websites versus my HRM (which I have packaged but still haven’t actually put in the mailbox), I need to wait til my HRM comes back fixed.

I also got to run in my new running outfit again!  I love actually feeling like I look somewhat good when I’m exercising!  I might hit Target and get a few more shirts to match the pants Will got me.

Typical post-pizza gain.  Don’t know what my problem was yesterday, but I was starving all day!

Liam was up at 5:15 this morning … I’m so tired, if I don’t eat everything in the house, it’ll be a miracle.  Definitely planning on a run today, Will promised not to work this weekend, so I have someone to watch the wee man while I head out.  It’s a little too cold to take him along.

Excellent.  Minimal damage – I’m still within the 7 pound range, though I’m a full pound from the lowest weight I’ve seen this year.  Still, I’m glad I stuck with it and didn’t give in.  Lesson learned – I can only have one “slightly off” day per week, not two.  It’s funny, Will and I used to just pretty much eat what we wanted on the weekends and we expected to lose weight.  As a matter of fact, he did lose weight, but I always need to keep in mind that a) he’s got more to lose than I do and b) he’s a man.

Still, I’ll have my one “slightly off” day a week, and for at least the next 40 days, that’ll be Friday.  Can’t eat meat?  Might as well eat pizza!  I’m trying to pep talk myself into only eating two slices today, not the normal 4 that I usually down.  We’ll see how it goes.

It’s funny, I feel much more comfortable at this weight than I did at 187.4 – it’s only a half-pound difference, but I swear I can feel the difference.  Anyway, I’m glad to see the weight still crawling down.  If I can keep up this downward motion, I’ll have gained less than a pound this week, and that was really the ultimate goal.  So, one more day to go until weigh-in, I’ll be making sure I only eat what I take to work (no freebies today), and I’ll be making healthy selections to pack.

Excellent, still on the way down.  Today is Ash Wednesday, so no meat for me.  I’m making it simple, we’ll probably do pierogies for dinner, and I’ll have a cheese sandwich for lunch.  There’s too much to do around the house to make a big meal. I’ve given up ice cream for Lent, God help us all 🙂

I’m still reminding myself to make that gain as small as possible, but at least I’m following it!

It’s on the way back down, and that’s what’s important.  Lesson learned – roast beef sandwiches are great, but not worth the weight gain when you have an extra half-sandwich.  I need to keep reminding myself that while this week will be a gain, it’s my job to make it as small a gain as possible.

Totally my fault.  Mom and Dad brought hot roast beef sandwiches last night, and that’s one of my FAVORITE meals.  So, rather than stopping when I ate one sandwich, I had one and a half.  I’m also fairly certain that Kyle and I plowed through a bag of Stacy’s Pita Chips together.

Well, this week is a bust, but now its up to me to make it as little of a bust as possible.  I think that’s where a lot of people (myself included) fall off the wagon – you figure, well, I screwed this one up, might as well eat whatever I want this week.  Then the gain that week is immense, and you just can’t bring yourself to get back on the wagon the following week.  So, I’m going to work hard this week and at least try and see if I can bring it back down to something closer to last week’s weight.
