Well, that was a welcome drop!  Today is looking to be a lovely day, so I do plan a run at some point.  Hopefully, I’ll be able to fit one in during the day so that Will can ride in the evening.  I’m thinking that Liam might like to get out in the jogger, it’ll just depend on how chilly/windy it is after lunch.  My hope is that taking Liam out for a run might help him get a little bit of a nap in – we’ll see!!

In the meantime, I want to see if I can keep in the 170’s for Friday.  That would be nice, even though it might not be my all time low, it’ll at least make me feel like I’m getting closer to it.


3/30 Workout: HHA

Did a little HHA last night, and before Liam went to bed, he decided to try it out with me.  I’ve never had so much fun doing a workout before.  Will and I were hysterical laughing as Liam tried to march in place and then slide from side to side.  Funny stuff.  Maybe someday, he’ll be big enough to do the whole thing with mommy!

I’m definitely noticing a pattern over the past few weeks … Monday, weigh in around 182, Tuesday, drop a couple pounds, Wednesday, up a couple pounds.  If the rain eases tonight, I’m going to try and get a run in and see if that’ll help break the cycle.  If not, I’ll just have to hope that HHA can help me break out of this.

A little frustrating to see this morning, but not awful.  I think I’ll manage, although I doubt I’ll see that pre-holiday weight by Easter.  Now, I just have to manage to stay away from too much Easter candy this weekend.


3/27 Workout: Long Run 28 March 2010

Had an excellent run this evening.  After dinner, I decided to head out for a quick run before I had to put Liam in the bath so that Will could go for a quick ride.  My “quick” run turned into about 40 minutes and 3 miles, which pleased me.  I definitely feel ready to sign up for a 5k now.  My race time for my last 5k was 38:51.  If you factor in the fact that I won’t be walking for the first 5 minutes of the race, I feel comfortable saying that my future race time will be really close to that.  The earliest 5k I’m willing to sign up for will be toward the end of April, so maybe that time could even be better, assuming I can keep up with my speed work.  For now, though, I’ll say that my goal is the same as last time: finish in less than 40 minutes.  Definitely do-able.  Now, to sign up for a race!

I’m pretty sure that’s lower than last week, so I’ll take it.  Still, its a slow losing process, and its looking like I may not lose the holiday pounds by Easter, but at this point, I’m not sure that I care.  I’m still losing weight, and that’s ultimately the goal, isn’t it?


3/25 Workout: Walk & Weights

I needed to eek in one more workout for my President’s Challenge goal for the week, so the family took a walk and I finished off the calorie-burning with a little bit of weight-lifting, something I should probably do more often.  I’ve got the weights sitting in my family room, I just never think to pull them out.  I’m thinking maybe I’ll try and get in at least one weight-based workout a week.  They aren’t overly intense, but they’re something!
