It was slow and strained, but that’s because Liam was kind enough to pass a cold on to me. Still, I wrapped March up with a run, so I’m pleased. There are a lot of articles like this one from Runner’s World that talk about when its okay to run with an illness. Also, there’s a ton of research (I think that article even mentions it) that running can boost your immune system and help you heal faster.
I also needed that run quite a bit – Liam and I had a bit of a stressful afternoon yesterday. He decided to throw a tantrum for the duration of the 20 minutes it took us to get to the YMCA last night because Mommy wouldn’t give him the car keys out of the ignition, then he had another one in the YMCA locker room because Mommy took her Oakleys from him when he was trying to snap them in two. He had a decent swimming lesson, but then he threw yet another tantrum when we got back in the car due to the keys again. It was a long evening. A run was definitely good stress relief at the very least, and I’m starting to feel a bit better congestion-wise, so hopefully Saturday’s run will be stronger and a little bit faster.
