I was inspired by a friend to re-try the weight-loss blog, though I’m not sure what’s possessing me to start it prior to the holidays. I guess I figure, I’m not going to bother posting a weigh-in until 2 January 2009, but I can at least start putting my thoughts down on paper … er … the computer, that is.
I’m 5′3″ and have battled weight all my life. In 2001, I began a weight-loss journey that resulted in a loss of about 80 pounds. I was down to a svelte 145. If you had asked me then, I would have told you that I still had about 20 pounds to lose to get to my “ideal” weight. Looking back, I was lucky I was at 145 for so long. After two years of graduate school, a relocation to the middle of nowhere, and a baby, I’ve gained quite a bit. My new goal is to be at 155, and then I start working on my body fat percentage.
About the Blog:
This blog is meant to be about me and my thoughts. Most of what you’ll find here will be weight-related … specifically, a daily log of my weight and my feelings about that weight. If you want to read my random musings, try my other blog: Watching the Wheels
From now until 2 January 2009, I plan to just put down some thoughts … basically, try to figure out why I am the size I am and how I can change that. After the new year, I’ll be running a daily weigh-in in the morning and I’ll post my blog about it that night (after the wee man is in bed). I would greatly appreciate your comments and thoughts when you have time to give them … knowing there are folks out there reading and supporting me will definitely help in my goal to post something every day.
Thanks for stopping by, hope you’ll be checking in regularly! Wish me luck …
